Swedish producer responsibility puts the reporting duty on whoever places the packaging on the Swedish market. If that is you, the numbers are due each spring — and they have to be traceable back to item level.

The obligation
Who reports, and what
Swedish producer responsibility for packaging applies to the party that places packaged goods on the Swedish market. For an international supplier that is either you directly, or your Swedish importer — and which of the two it is decides who carries the reporting duty.
The report covers the weight of packaging placed on the market, broken down by material. Getting there requires a packaging model per item: bottle, cap, label, tray, film and outer carton as separate records with their own material and weight.

The dates
31 March 2027 is the one to plan against
The Swedish packaging report for a calendar year is filed the following spring, with 31 March 2027 covering 2026. The EU packaging regulation, PPWR, has applied since 12 August 2026 and sets the structured data requirements the report rests on.
The deforestation regulation, EUDR, applies to large and medium-sized operators from 30 December 2026 and to micro and small importers from 30 June 2027, including timber and wood-based building products.
What it means in practice
The same dataset your publishing already needs
The packaging data the report asks for is the packaging data Validoo and the Nordic data pools already ask for. Handled as one dataset, the reporting is a delivery rather than a separate project.
Where the rules are unclear we say they are unclear, and where a date is indicative we call it indicative. We do not fill gaps with estimates.
